Wonderland Lisboa is Lisbon’s flagship Christmas experience, and easily the most famous one. It’s more than just a market, with wooden cabins, a Ferris wheel with panoramic views of the Tagus river, an ice rink, Santa’s Village, live shows, and stands selling handicrafts, fashion, decor, and festive eats. Entry is free, and you just pay per attraction, ride, or skating.
That said, it gets crowded, especially on weekends and closer to Christmas. The lines for the Ferris wheel and skating rink can take several hours, so it’s best to visit on weekdays if you can.
Dates: November 15, 2025 – December 22, 2025 (to be confirmed)
Right in the heart of downtown Lisbon, the Rossio Christmas Market is one you’ll likely stumble upon while exploring the city’s historic center. Wooden chalets line the square, offering handmade crafts such as azulejo tiles, cork accessories, ceramics, and local jewelry.
You’ll also find roasted chestnuts, seasonal pastries, mulled wine (vinho quente), and a charming electric “Christmas Train” that loops through Baixa, a hit with both children and nostalgic adults.
Dates: November 28 – December 1 and December 5 – December 8, 2025
Held inside Lisbon’s iconic red-brick bullring, Campo Pequeno Christmas Market is a must-visit for anyone who loves design, craftsmanship, and gourmet treats. You’ll find everything from Portuguese ceramics and olive oils to jewelry, fashion, and premium food gifts.
Entry costs 2€, but visitors get a 1€ voucher toward purchases over a set amount. This fee helps keep the atmosphere calmer than free-entry markets. Since it’s indoors (or semi-covered), Campo Pequeno is also a great option if the weather turns chilly or rainy.
Dates: December 6 - 29, 2025 (to be confirmed)
The Grande Arraial do Lumiar takes place in the Professor Francisco Caldeira Cabral Garden in Telheiras, right by the metro station. Traditionally, an arraial is a lively Portuguese street festival filled with food, music, and community spirit. This Christmas edition brings that same energy with a festive twist.
Expect artisanal products, food and drink stalls, live performances, children’s entertainment areas, and even creative workshops. Entry is free, and the atmosphere feels distinctly local, ideal if you’re looking to experience Lisbon’s Christmas through the eyes of its residents.

Although this isn’t technically in Lisbon, visiting Óbidos Vila Natal is worth it if you’re up for a day trip. The medieval town of Óbidos is around an hour from Lisbon, and every year it transforms into a real-life Christmas village. The cobbled streets and castle walls are decked out in lights, with snow machines, carousels, a skating rink, live shows, and themed food stalls.
General tickets are 10€, with special prices for children and families. It’s one of the most enchanting festive experiences in Portugal, especially for families with children.
Lisbon may not have snow-covered streets, but it makes up for it with warmth, charm, and plenty of festive cheer. Whether you’re gliding across the ice at Wonderland, sipping mulled wine under Rossio’s lights, or dancing at a local arraial, Christmas in Lisbon offers a uniquely Portuguese twist on the holiday season.
And instead of hauling souvenirs in your arms while navigating cobblestone streets or juggling public transport, remember you can safely store your bags with LUGGit.
