Camp Nou is reopening after the biggest stadium renovation in European football history. The new Spotify Camp Nou will hold 105,000 seats when fully complete - the largest stadium in Europe. It partially reopened in late 2025 with ~62,000 capacity, and sections continue opening through 2026. Here's everything you need to know about visiting, including what to do with your bags on match day.

What's new at Camp Nou

  • 105,000 capacity when fully complete (currently ~62,000 as renovation continues in phases)
  • Full roof cover for the first time - no more getting soaked in rain
  • New VIP areas and hospitality lounges across all levels
  • Improved access with wider concourses and more entry gates
  • World Capital of Architecture 2026 - Barcelona's hosting year adds extra architectural tours and events around the stadium

Match day bag policy

Camp Nou has a zero-bag policy. According to FC Barcelona's official rules, no luggage, bags, backpacks, or baby carriages of any kind are allowed inside the stadium. There is no locker service at the venue. This is a problem if you're flying in for a match or checking out of your hotel on game day.

Your options:

  • LUGGit - a Keeper (Driver) picks up your bags from your hotel, Airbnb, or the airport and stores them while you enjoy the match. After the game, they deliver to your next stop. From €2/bag
  • Storage apps - Bounce and Stasher have spots near the stadium area, from €1.49/day. You'll need to walk 10-15 minutes to drop off and collect
  • Your hotel - if you're a guest, most hotels hold bags for free. But you'll need to go back to collect them

Stadium tour and FC Barcelona Museum

Even on non-match days, the Camp Nou Experience tour lets you walk through the tunnel, sit in the dugout, and visit the trophy room. The museum is one of the most visited in Barcelona - more popular than many art museums.

Check fcbarcelona.com for current tour availability. During the phased reopening, tour routes and access areas may change. Historically tours cost €28 adults, €22 kids (4-10).

Bag policy for tours: same restrictions apply. No large bags, backpacks, or suitcases. Leave them with LUGGit before visiting.

Getting to Camp Nou

  • Metro: L3 (green line) to Palau Reial or L5 (blue line) to Collblanc. Both are a 10-minute walk to the stadium
  • Bus: Lines 7, 33, 54, 56, 157 stop near the stadium
  • From the airport: metro L9 Sud to Zona Universitaria, then a 15-minute walk. Or book LUGGit to pick up at BCN airport and deliver to the stadium area
  • On foot: 30 minutes from Placa Catalunya through Eixample - a nice walk on non-match days

Tips for visiting

  • Buy tickets early - Camp Nou sells out. For big matches (El Clasico, Champions League), tickets go months in advance
  • Arrive 90 minutes before kickoff - security queues are long with the new bag scanning system
  • Zero bags allowed - FC Barcelona bans ALL luggage, bags, and backpacks. Leave everything with LUGGit
  • Food inside is expensive - eat at the restaurants along Travessera de les Corts before the match
  • Combine with the museum - on non-match days, do the tour in the morning, then explore the neighborhood. The Pedralbes Monastery is nearby
