We all like to travel, whether it's for taking a break from our routine, the adventure of getting to know new places, the thrill of new experiences, or the discovery of new cultures. But more than that, we like to eat and eat well, especially if you are a foodie.
Today we bring you a short list of good restaurants to go to when you visit Lisbon.
So, where to eat you might ask.
Start with the most important meal of the day: Breakfast

Manteigaria – Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata
Here you can find one of the most known and appreciated delicacies of Portugal, the Pastel de Nata.
Eaten by the bite, it is without a doubt a must try when visiting the country. If you are a fan of cinnamon, you can also put it on top, as well as powdered sugar. To accompany this traditional sweet, you can order several coffee drinks there or to go. Also, you can choose between hot chocolate, juices, tea or even the famous "Vinho do Porto". It's all your choice!
You can find Manteigaria in several places in Lisbon, including Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré and Baixa-Chiado. Here are some addresses:

The price per Pastel de Nata is 1,10€ and you can also buy a pack of 6 Pastéis for 6,60€.

Amélia
Amélia is a Travelers choice 2021 café. It is known for its cozy and fun atmosphere that passes the feeling of being outdoors and that represents the whole essence of the restaurant.
Here, you can find a brunch menu with pancakes, hamburgers, scrambled eggs, tapioca, toasts and salads. They also have Breakfast favorites which involve bowls with granola and fruit, Greek yogurt or porridge with fruit.
It also has the Amelia Brunch which includes fresh orange juice + yogurt w/ fruit & homemade granola or classic pancake + eggs of your choice + coffee or tea.
There is also a long list of drinks, ranging from wake shots, through Amélia Green Juice, smoothies, juices, coffee, tea, beer, wine and even cocktails.
It is suitable for vegetarians, vegans and even for those with gluten allergies, due to the options it offers. However, you should keep in mind that it is not a totally gluten free kitchen.
And best of all, it is pet friendly. So, if you miss your pet, you can always take the opportunity to meet and perhaps interact with other customers' animals.
The opening hours are always the same, 08:30 AM. Closing time depends on the days. Monday to Thursday, 10 PM. Friday to Sunday, 10:30 PM.
Prices range from 10-15€ and you can find it located in Campo de Ourique, at Rua Ferreira Borges, 0.6 km away from the Basílica da Estrela.

Heim Cafe
With a rustic and cozy vibe, Heim Cafe offers brunch options with scrambled or grilled eggs, toast, smoked salmon, bancon, granola, yogurt, fruit, waffles, pancakes and more.
They also have a menu of hot drinks, smoothies, lemonades and iced teas, cocktails, juices and soft drinks, as well as wine, beer and cider.
It was one of the places voted Travelers Choice 2021 by TripAdvisor and prices range from 4€ to 15€.
Heim Cafe is located 1,1 km away from Bairro Alto, on Rua de Santos-o-Velho 4.

Café do Paço
If you appreciate a good steak, Café do Paço is the ideal option for you. The restaurant has a refined and robust decoration, with big chandeliers and red chairs.
With traditional Portuguese cuisine, the Café do Paço is known for its croquettes and the Steak à Casa which is widely considered the best in Lisbon. The service is also one of its strong points.
To enter, just ring the bell, sit down and enjoy.
You can find it in Paco da Rainha 62 A, 0,6km from Miradouro da Senhora do Monte and a meal for two will cost approximately 50€.

Atalho do Cais
Atalho do Cais is a Steakhouse known for its menu of varied meat dishes, such as Angus, spareribs, picanha, loin, and lamb chop, as well as its bone-in meats.
They also have hamburgers, salads, and sandwiches. However, what makes this space stand out is their Meat Sushi. An unusual concept, for fans of the sushi aspect, who can't resist a good piece of meat will be the cherry on top of the cake.
Atalho do Cais is located in Cais do Sodré at Rua De São Paulo, 32 and the average price for a meal is around 17€.

Italy caffe Ristorante
If you are a fan of Italian food, this is the place to go.
It features a cozy space with decor reminiscent of Italian style. They have a menu with lots of pasta options, lasagna, pizzas, typical appetizers, and much more.
When you order pasta, you are entitled to a real show of the pasta being dipped in a wheel of cheese, which makes the experience much better.
Here, you can book a regular or group dinner. The prices are approximately 25€ per person.

If you are looking to discover typical Portuguese flavors:
Gambrinus
Portuguese flavors rule at Gambrinus! With a wide menu of traditional flavors, the dishes are divided between fish and meat. Some examples of what you can find are Cozido à Portuguesa, Rojões com castanhas, Alheira de Mirandela, Lulas fritas e Pescada no forno.
All the decoration mirrors the traditionality of the space.
Gambrinus is located on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão 23 and the average price of a meal for two people is around 110€.

Cervejaria Ramiro
If you're looking for seafood, this is where you find it. Here you can choose from a selection of seafood, like shrimp, crabs, clams, barnacles, oysters and much more.
The simple decor, cozy space, and good atmosphere make Cervejaria Ramiro an obligatory stop in Lisbon.

The average price of a meal for two is 60€.
O Velho Eurico
With a very characteristic environment, O Velho Eurico is an old-fashioned tavern.
It has typical Portuguese dishes like Arroz de Pato, Bacalhau à Brás, and Lulas, but also innovations like French fries with Francesinha sauce.
At the end of the meal, it is typical to ask for a coffee with "cheirinho", which consists in adding a bit of Bagaço to the coffee.
This represents another traditional option, 0.6km from Castelo de São Jorge at Largo São Cristóvão 3. A meal for 2 people will be approximately 25€.

Hikidashi - Japanese Tavern
If your preference is Sushi, you can try this Japanese Tavern. The decoration mostly in wood makes the space very cozy and the food is fantastic.
It is located at Rua Coelho da Rocha 20 Campo de Ourique, 400m from Basilica da Estrela.
A meal for 2 people will cost around 80€.
