The Festa Major de Gràcia is Barcelona's most spectacular neighbourhood festival - a full week of decorated streets, free concerts, and parties. If you're visiting during August 15-21 and need to store bags, here's what you need to know.

Every August, residents of the Gràcia neighbourhood spend months transforming 23 streets into works of art. Thousands of handmade decorations hang from building to building, each street competing for the best theme. It's completely free to attend and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors over the week.
The 2026 Festa Major de Gràcia runs from August 15-21. Expect live concerts in the squares every night, castellers (human tower building) in Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, correfocs (fire runs with dragons), sardanes (traditional Catalan circle dances), and food stalls serving botifarra, patatas bravas, and vermouth on every corner.
Gràcia's narrow streets are packed wall-to-wall with people during the festival. Dragging a suitcase through the crowds is practically impossible - and definitely no fun. There are no lockers or bag storage in the neighbourhood. The nearest metro stations (Fontana and Diagonal on L3) don't have storage either.
This is a real problem if you're checking out of your Barcelona hotel or Airbnb on a festival day. You want to spend the day (and night) wandering the decorated streets - not worrying about where to park your bags.
LUGGit is the best option for Festa de Gràcia because you don't have to leave the neighbourhood. A Keeper (Driver) in an orange vest comes to your hotel or meets you at a metro station, picks up your bags, and delivers them wherever you need later.
Prices start at €2/bag. Every bag is insured up to €1,200 and sealed with a tamper-proof tag. Real-time WhatsApp updates so you always know where your luggage is.

Bounce and Radical Storage have locations near Passeig de Gràcia (a 10-minute walk from the festival area). But during the Festa Major, Gràcia's streets are closed to traffic and packed with people - walking with bags is a nightmare. LUGGit comes to you, so you never have to navigate the crowds with luggage.
The Gràcia neighbourhood is well connected by public transport. Here's how to get there:
During the festival, several streets inside Gràcia are closed to all traffic including taxis. Drop-off by car isn't practical - take the metro or walk. LUGGit Keepers (Drivers) know the area and can meet you at any metro exit.

Is there luggage storage at Festa Major de Gràcia?
No. The Gràcia neighbourhood has no lockers, cloakrooms, or bag storage. The nearest storage locations are in central Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia area). LUGGit is the most convenient option - a Keeper (Driver) meets you anywhere and picks up your bags from €2/bag.
When is Festa Major de Gràcia 2026?
The Festa Major de Gràcia 2026 runs from August 15 to 21. The festival is completely free and open to everyone. Decorated streets are open all day, but the best atmosphere is in the evenings when concerts start around 10pm.
Can I bring a suitcase to Festa de Gràcia?
Technically yes, but it's a terrible idea. The narrow streets are packed shoulder-to-shoulder during the festival, especially at night. You'd spend all your time fighting through crowds with luggage instead of enjoying the decorations and music. Store bags with LUGGit or at a Bounce/Radical Storage location before heading in.
How do I get to the Festa Major de Gràcia?
Metro L3 (green line) to Fontana station drops you right in the festival area. From Plaça Catalunya, it's just 2 stops. A single metro ticket costs €2.90 or €13.00 for a T-Casual card with 10 trips.
What are the best streets to see at Festa de Gràcia?
The most spectacular are Carrer de Verdi, Plaça del Sol (for concerts), Carrer de Mozart, and Carrer Llibertat. Each street has a different theme and competes for the best decoration prize. Plan to spend 2-3 hours wandering to see them all.
