Places to Visit in Mykonos

Porto is a city best seen on foot – which is exactly the problem when you’ve checked out of your hotel at 11am and your flight isn’t until nine. Dragging a suitcase up Rua das Flores or over the Dom Luís I Bridge is nobody’s idea of a good afternoon.

There are three realistic ways to store bags in Porto: fixed lockers, app-based storage in shops and hotels, or a door-to-door service that collects from wherever you are. We checked prices for all three in July 2026.

One thing the headline prices hide: lockers are priced per locker, LUGGit and the apps are priced per bag. If you’re two people with one small bag each, a single medium locker can be the cheaper option for a few hours. For a full day, several bags, or anything bulky, door-to-door usually wins.

City Lockers: 9 locations across Porto

City Lockers runs the main network of self-service lockers in central Porto, with nine locations. Two are open 24 hours: the Clérigos Tower car park (entrance on Rua de São Filipe de Nery) and Ribeira Hard Club (Rua da Bolsa). The rest follow metro or shop hours.

  • Trindade metro station – lockers 06:00–01:00, coins only; staffed left-luggage shop in the same corridor 09:00–19:00. Direct metro link to the airport on line E.
  • São Bento area – Rua dos Caldeireiros 7, 3 minutes’ walk from the station, 09:00–21:00.
  • Clérigos Tower – inside the car park, open 24 hours.
  • Ribeira Hard Club – Rua da Bolsa, inside the car park, open 24 hours.
  • Bolhão, Aliados and 24 de Agosto metro stations – 06:00–01:00.
  • Cedofeita (Rua do General Silveira 33) and Taipas / Vitória viewpoint (Rua das Taipas 1A) – 09:00–19:00.

Lockers come in three sizes and are monitored by CCTV and alarm. Maximum stay is 7 days. You pay the first hour to close the locker, and settle the rest when you collect – it won’t spring open after an hour.

Luggage lockers at São Bento and Campanhã stations

Porto has two main rail hubs. São Bento sits in the city centre and is famous for its tiled hall, but it handles mostly regional trains and on-site locker space is limited. Campanhã, about 5 minutes away by metro, is the intercity and high-speed hub where most long-distance trains arrive.

If the station lockers are full – which happens often in summer – the City Lockers site on Rua dos Caldeireiros is a 3-minute walk from São Bento, and LUGGit can meet you on the platform at either station and take the bags off your hands entirely.

Luggage storage at Porto Airport

Porto Airport has 104 self-service lockers on Floor -1, in the tunnel leading to the metro, before security and open 24 hours. Prices run from €3.60 for a small locker for 3 hours up to €24.00 for an XL locker for 24 hours, with a €25.20 daily fee past 72 hours.

We’ve broken down every size and duration in our Porto Airport luggage storage guide.

Storage apps and local businesses

Bounce, Stasher, Nannybag and Radical Storage don’t own storage sites – they partner with shops, hotels and cafes. Coverage in Porto is genuinely good, with over 100 partner points clustered around São Bento, Ribeira and Bolhão.

Watch two things. Advertised rates are teaser prices: Bounce promotes Porto from €1.95/day but the actual locations we checked charge €3.50 to €4.95 per bag per day. And opening hours belong to the host business, so a cafe holding your bag may close earlier than you expect.

Hotels and guesthouses

If you’re staying there, most Porto hotels will hold your bags before check-in or after check-out at no charge – always worth asking first. The limits are that it’s usually guests only, storage is rarely secured or insured, and you have to return to the hotel to collect, which is awkward if you’re flying out from the other side of the city.

Why travellers choose LUGGit in Porto

Every option above asks you to go somewhere, twice. LUGGit works the other way round: a Keeper (Driver) meets you where you are, seals each bag with a tamper-proof tag, stores it in a monitored facility, and delivers it wherever you need – hotel, station, airport or Airbnb.

  • From €2 per bag, with the cost per bag falling as you add more.
  • No backtracking – drop bags in Ribeira, collect them at the airport.
  • Insured up to €1,200 per bag on the Flexible plan.
  • Any size – including surfboards, bikes and golf clubs.
  • Rated 4.9/5 by more than 5,000 travellers.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I store luggage in Porto?

You have four realistic options. City Lockers runs nine self-service sites including Trindade, Clérigos and Ribeira, from €2 for a small locker for up to 2 hours. Porto Airport has 104 lockers on Floor -1. Apps like Bounce and Nannybag use partner shops around São Bento and Ribeira. And LUGGit collects from any address in Porto from €2/bag, so you don’t have to reach a fixed point at all.

How much does luggage storage cost in Porto?

We checked in July 2026. City Lockers charges €2.00–€3.00 for up to 2 hours and €7.00–€11.00 for 24 hours, depending on locker size. Porto Airport lockers start at €3.60 for 3 hours. Storage apps advertise from €1.49–€1.95/day but Porto locations typically charge €3.50–€4.95 per bag per day. LUGGit starts at €2/bag with pickup and delivery included.

Are there luggage lockers at São Bento and Campanhã stations?

Both stations have some on-site locker space, but it’s limited and fills up in high season. The nearest reliable alternative to São Bento is the City Lockers site on Rua dos Caldeireiros, a 3-minute walk away and open 09:00–21:00. If you’d rather not test your luck, LUGGit can meet you at either station and collect the bags directly.

Can I store luggage in Porto overnight or for several days?

Yes. City Lockers allows stays of up to 7 days at €6.00–€11.00 per day, and two of its sites – Clérigos and Ribeira Hard Club – are open 24 hours, so you’re not locked out overnight. Airport lockers get expensive past 72 hours (€25.20 per extra day). LUGGit handles multi-day and long-term storage from a few hours up to six months.

Is luggage storage in Porto safe?

The City Lockers sites are covered by CCTV and alarm systems, and the airport lockers sit inside a monitored terminal. Storage in shops and cafes varies more, since security depends on the host business. With LUGGit, each bag is sealed with a tamper-proof tag in front of you, kept in a restricted-access facility, and insured up to €1,200 per bag on the Flexible plan.
