Web Summit 2026 takes over Lisbon from 9 to 12 November, with Opening Night at the MEO Arena and three conference days across the MEO Arena and the FIL pavilions in Parque das Nações. Last year's edition brought 71,386 attendees from 157 countries to the same venue, and a lot of them landed with a suitcase and a tight schedule.
Here's the catch: Web Summit asks attendees not to bring bags, and anything bigger than a laptop bag, handbag or backpack is on the list of items not allowed in the venue. So if you're flying in on Opening Night or flying out after the last talk, your suitcase needs a plan. We went through the official 2026 rules, the registration times, the Metro pass and every luggage option near the venue - all checked in November 2026.

Bag rule
Small bags only - laptop bags, handbags and backpacks
Not a suitcase. Web Summit's official venue guide says: "We're asking attendees not to bring bags to Web Summit. If you must, please note that only small bags are permitted inside the venue." The list of items not allowed includes bags bigger than laptop bags, handbags or backpacks, and every entrance has a mandatory security check.
There are two official bag drop points, one at the South entrance and one at the North entrance. They're handy for a backpack or a coat while you're inside. What they don't do is solve the rest of your day: you still drag the suitcase on the Metro to Parque das Nações, through the security queue, and back across Lisbon to your hotel, Night Summit or the airport.
Two more items on the not-allowed list that catch people out in November: non-retractable umbrellas (bring a folding one - it rains a lot in Lisbon this time of year) and scooters, bikes and hoverboards. If you lose something, the lost and found is in Pavilion 5 and in Cloakroom A, next to Pavilion 1.

The lockers and storage apps work if you're coming back to the same place. Web Summit days rarely work like that - you arrive from the airport, finish at Night Summit in Cais do Sodré, and leave from your hotel on the last morning. A pickup service skips the return trip: you hand the bags over in one place and get them back somewhere else.

LUGGit is a door-to-door luggage service in Lisbon. Instead of you looking for a locker near the venue, a Keeper (Driver) comes to you - at Lisbon Airport, at Oriente station, or at your hotel or Airbnb - takes your bags, and delivers them back wherever and whenever you choose.
Prices start at €2 per bag and drop as you add more bags. Every bag is insured up to €1,200 on the Flexible plan, and you can store for a few hours or several days. LUGGit has a 4.9/5 rating from 5,800+ reviews.

Landing on Opening Night (Monday 9 November). Register at the Web Summit desk in Terminal 1 (open 7:30am - 10pm that day), hand your bags to a Keeper (Driver) at arrivals, and take the red line straight to Oriente. Your suitcase waits for you at your hotel or Airbnb instead of coming with you to the MEO Arena.
Leaving on the last day (Thursday 12 November). Most hotels want you out by late morning, hours before the final talks. Have your bags collected at the hotel in the morning, spend the day at FIL with your laptop bag, and get your luggage back at the airport before your flight. LUGGit runs from 8am to 8pm, so for a late-evening flight, set the airport handover before 8pm.
Arriving by train from Porto or the Algarve. CP trains stop at Lisboa Oriente, a short walk from the venue. Go down to street level and exit towards "Avenida D. João II" - your Keeper (Driver) waits at the main entrance facing Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre, near the crosswalk underneath the overpass.
Staying on after Web Summit or switching hotels. If you're adding a weekend in Lisbon or moving from a hotel near the venue to one in the centre, LUGGit can store your bags between check-out and check-in and deliver them to the new address.
You need to register to collect your lanyard and wristband before you can enter. Bring your ticket (it's in the Web Summit app) and photo ID. These are the official 2026 times:

Web Summit says the times can change as the event gets closer, and you have to wear the lanyard and wristband every day. Lose one and it's €100 to replace.

Oriente is the closest station to both the MEO Arena and FIL, and it's on the same red line as the airport, so you can go from your plane to the venue without a single change. Follow the signs to MEO Arena and FIL once you're out of the station. The Metro normally runs from 6:30am to 1am.
If you're using public transport all week, the Web Summit Transport Pass is better value than single tickets. It gives unlimited travel on the Metro, Carris buses and trams, and CP urban trains (Sintra, Cascais, Azambuja and Sado lines):
Our Lisbon Airport to city centre guide has every other route from the airport, including buses and taxi prices.
Night Summit is included with your Web Summit ticket. It now starts onsite at Pavilion 5, with speed networking, meetup spaces, food and DJ sets, then moves into the city:
Time Out Market and Cais do Sodré are next to each other by the river; Príncipe Real is further uphill. A backpack is fine for any of them, a suitcase isn't - one more reason to get it to your hotel during the day. For the rest of the night, see our guide to Lisbon at night.
The venue sits in Lisbon's modern riverside district, built for Expo '98. If you have an hour between talks, these are all within walking distance:
Pack for mild, wet weather. In early-to-mid November, Lisbon days usually sit around 16 - 19°C, evenings drop to 10 - 13°C, and rain is likely at least once during the week.
If your startup or company is bringing a group, one booking can cover everyone's luggage - collected from the hotel, stored during the event and delivered to the airport. See how we handle luggage for groups at conferences and exhibitions.
Luggage storage at Lisbon Oriente Station - The lockers, storage apps and LUGGit meeting points at the station next to Web Summit.
Luggage storage at Lisbon Airport (LIS) - Official airport lockers, sizes and prices by duration.

When and where is Web Summit 2026?
Web Summit 2026 runs from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 November 2026 in Lisbon. Opening Night is on 9 November at the MEO Arena, and the conference days (10-12 November) take place across the MEO Arena and the FIL pavilions in Parque das Nações. The closest Metro and train station is Oriente.
Can I bring a suitcase to Web Summit?
No. Web Summit asks attendees not to bring bags, and bags bigger than laptop bags, handbags or backpacks are on the list of items not allowed in the venue. If you're arriving or leaving on an event day, store your suitcase before you go. LUGGit picks it up at Lisbon Airport, Oriente station or your hotel from €2/bag and delivers it wherever you need it afterwards.
Is there a bag drop or cloakroom at Web Summit?
Yes. There are two official bag drop points, one at the South entrance and one at the North entrance of the venue. They're meant for small bags while you're inside. For a full-size suitcase, or to avoid carrying it across Lisbon before and after the event, use a luggage service like LUGGit or the lockers at Oriente station.
Where can I store luggage near Web Summit?
The closest options are the Oriente station lockers (from €6 to €9 per day, subject to availability), storage app partner shops near the station (from about €1.49 to €3.50 per day), and LUGGit, which meets you at Oriente, the airport or your hotel from €2/bag and delivers your bags to your hotel or the airport later.
How do I get from Lisbon Airport to Web Summit?
Take the Metro red line from the Aeroporto station directly to Oriente - about 8 minutes, no changes. A single ticket costs €1.90 plus €0.50 for the navegante card. From Oriente, follow the signs to MEO Arena and FIL. The Web Summit Transport Pass (3 days €23, 5 days €31.50) is sold at the airport next to the Web Summit accreditation area from 7 to 10 November.
Where do I register for Web Summit 2026?
You can register at Lisbon Airport Terminal 1 (from Saturday 7 November to Tuesday 10 November) or at Pavilhão de Portugal next to the venue (from Saturday 7 November to Thursday 12 November). Bring your ticket from the Web Summit app and photo ID. Replacing a lost lanyard or wristband costs €100.
We collect your bags, store them securely and deliver them wherever and whenever you choose.
