In the last edition of ā€œ Conversations with Our Partnersā€, we had the opportunity of traveling to Valencia to speak with Enrique Alfonso, CFO of VLC Host. A company with over 12 years of experience managing accommodations in the vacation rental industry. In this interview, Enrique shares how their journey began, how the industry has evolved since their first years and talks about why guest satisfaction is their number one priority. L: How long have you been working in the vacation rental industry and what inspired you to start?

Enrique: We started this adventure in 2018 with a lot of enthusiasm and a clear vision: to connect Valencia with the world through unique experiences. We’re in love with our city and saw its potential for travelers. We wanted to showcase it in an authentic way, taking care of every detail in the accommodation and guest service.


L: What changes have you noticed in the industry since you started? How have they affected VLC Host?

We have also seen how regulation has become more prominent. While sometimes challenging, it’s pushed us to constantly improve and be more rigorous in everything we do.


L: What are the operational challenges you face on a day-to-day basis?

E: Coordination is everything. Managing over 150 properties means being very sharp with logistics: cleaning, maintenance, customer service… Every detail matters. Our goal is for the guest to never notice the hard work behind the scenes — but to feel it in their experience.
